Show
ring handling and transport to shows:
Fischer Farm will handle
your alpaca in the show ring for you!
If needed, we can
also take your alpaca(s) to the show for you!
Kathy is an avid student
of animal behavior. In addition she has attended numerous handling
classes, led by well known and respected judges, and Marty McGee
Bennett! Kathy is able to present your alpaca in its best light
in the show ring! She has experience handling numerous alpacas,
of all temperaments, in the ring, including the Color Championship
ring!
Fischer Farm also offers
transport of your alpaca(s) to and from the show, and care for them
during the show. Fischer Farm *may* also provide digital photos
of your alpaca showing off, and videos *may* be available as well!
(See note below regarding availability)
Show
Handling fee: No charge for handling in the showing, we
are glad to help out.
Transport
costs:
((IRS mileage rate x total miles)/ numb. of alpacas on board) x
numb. of alpacas you are transporting.
In english: Take the current IRS mileage rate and multiply
it times the total number of miles to and from the show. This gives
you the total cost of the trip. Then take this total cost, and divide
it by the total number of alpacas on board - which gives you the
cost per alpaca. Then of course take the cost per alpaca and multiply
it times the number of alpacas you will have us transport for you
to get your total cost.
Stalls:
If we show your alpaca for you, we will need to reserve stall space
for your alpaca(s) at the time we register for the show. (You will
still need to register your alpaca(s) for the show, just don't get
stall space) This way your alpacas will be stalled in pens next
to ours so we can care for them. You will be responsible for the
stall fees for your alpacas, and we ask that the stall fee be paid
up front at the time we register for the show.
Show
Care fee: There is a $25.00 per alpaca fee for alpacas that
we care for at the show. This fee covers daily care while at the
show, such as fresh water, feed/pellets, walks and multiple poop
scooping detail. This fee is waived for alpacas purchased from Fischer
Farm LLC Alpacas
Video
taping of showing: $75 for a video clip on CD or DVD (up
to 20 minutes)
Transport
requirements:
Stalls must be reserved with our stalls at the time we register
for the show, and paid for up front. We will hang any flyers/banners
on your stall for you. Sometimes we have room available in stalls
to share, and then the cost of the stall will be divided up. In
this case only flyers (no banners) will be hung, with the space
being divided evenly between the farms sharing the stall.
Digital
photos and video taping availability depends on if my photographer
(Chris) is traveling with me!

Agistment
(Boarding):
We are
committed to alpacas. It doesn't matter if they are ours or yours,
or the farm down the street. All alpacas at Fischer Farm will be
treated with respect, handled with patience and understanding, and
provided with the highest quality care.
Listed
below are just some of the highlights of what we have to offer:
- Individual records for
every alpaca on our farm
- Weekly weights for Moms
and crias (more often if requested or needed)
- Monthly weights for
Yearlings and older, and herdsires
- Email and/or phone updates,
and pictures if requested
- Web camera monitoring
of Mom's and crias
- High quality hay and
Dynamite pellets
- Automatic, heated waterers
and comfortable, ample shelter
- Access to pasture, and
large corrals
Fischer
Farm offers individual, wide runs for young males, young females,
late gestating, and lactating Moms, and separation for herdsires
that need their space! We provide automatic heated waterers, and
separate water buckets with electrolytes when needed. Dynamite pellets
are offered up to twice daily if requested. Alpacas are separated
into smaller groups, and solitude where necessary for pellet feedings.
Our grass hay is analyzed to be sure it meets nutritional requirements,
and alfalfa is available upon request. And all alpacas get their
turn to stretch their legs and pronk in our pastures.
Fischer
Farm's "nursery" barn is large and strong and can be completely
enclosed should the weather take a turn for the worse. Plenty of
feeders are provided in the barn, and fresh straw is put down when
needed for extra warmth. Cameras monitor the inside of the "nursery"
barn, just outside of the "nursery" barn, and also down
the runs. The cameras pictures are uploaded to our website, and
updated every 20 seconds, so you can check on your Mom's and crias
while in the comfort of your home or office.
Fischer
Farm provides email updates, and/or phone call updates, and we respond
to email within 24 hours. We can also provide photos when requested.
And, visits are always welcome!
Colorado
State University Veterinary Hospital is only 50 minutes from us,
and we have the phone numbers, along with our Vet's phone numbers
posted on our refrigerator, in our barn, and in our cell phones.
We have some of the best Camelid Vets available in our area.

Never-ending
Support:
We are
committed to our alpacas, to their health and well being. And we
are dedicated to you, our customers.
We remember
when we first started out and all the questions we had. We remember
that most of our questions didn't emerge until well after we had
our alpacas home, and were caring for them ourselves. We were lucky
in that we had a small handful of people that we could call, day
or night, with any questions and/or concerns. Just knowing that
you have someone available should situations arise where you are
uncertain is invaluable. We will be there to help guide you through
any uncertain situations that may arise.
We will
also offer classes/seminars to help our customers learn and further
their experiences. These classes will be held periodically throughout
the year, or, specific classes/topics can be requested and scheduled
to fit your needs.
Bottom
line is we care about alpacas, and we care about you. We will do
as much as we can to help you to succeed and to share your lives
with very happy, healthy alpacas!

Fiber
Products:
Raw
Fleece:
Fischer Farm always has beautiful, natural, raw fleece, straight
off of the alpaca, for sale! Our raw fleece has not been dyed, washed,
or processed in any form. Raw fleece can be used for many things,
including carding and batting. Purchasing raw fleece is the least
expensive way to get alpaca fleece, as there are not any processing
fees included.
Batting:
Fischer
Farm tries to maintain some of the fleece off of our alpacas in
the form of batting. Call or email us to see which colors we have
available. Batting is great for felting projects!
Yarns:
Fischer
Farm has an ample supply of 100% alpaca yarn in approx. 200 yd.
(approx. 3 oz.) skeins available for sale. This yarn is processed
from the fleece off of our own alpacas and is completely natural.
The fleece is NOT dyed, only washed and spun into yarn. This yarn
comes in a package with a description, and picture of the alpaca
that produced the fleece for the yarn. If you're interested in the
yarn from our own alpacas, put your order in early, as this yarn
sells very quickly. We usually have the following colors on hand:
White, Beige, Light Fawn, Med Fawn, Dark Fawn, Med. Brown, and Dark
Brown.
Finished
Products:
Fischer Farm maintains a small collection of products produced from
100% alpaca fiber. Items we may have on hand include hats, scarves,
mittens/gloves, socks, and sweaters. Call or email to find out what
we have available, and the colors.

Customer
Referrals:
Dear Kathy
& Chris: I want to express my sincere thanks for all the wonderful
service that you have provided both to me, and my alpacas. From
our initial contact through the birth of Fischer's Lady Victoria
(Tori) you have been very informative and responsive, no matter
how minor the question or detail. I am fortunate as a first time
buyer to have found Fischer Farm Alpacas. It was overwhelmingly
clear early on how committed and dedicated you are to both the Alpacas
and your customers.
A lot of
exciting things have happened since I purchased Shezaten (Ten) and
Shazam from you. I came back to Missouri to purchase a home and
get it ready for them. The Alpacas remained in Colorado agisting
with you at Fischer Farm. You entered Shazam's fleece in a show
for me and it took second place. Then you represented me and showed
Shazam in his first show in Colorado. You were as excited as I was
when he won his first blue ribbon. Then of course, Shezaten gave
birth to the most beautiful 21.3 lb. black female cria (Tori) I
have ever seen. You and Chris were right there by Ten's side taking
care of her, and Tori when she arrived. Ten and Tori are doing great
and I get to watch them everyday via your web cam! The last three
months have been a fantastic experience for me!
Chris
and Kathy your customer satisfaction and dedication to the alpaca's
care is nothing less than EXCELLENT! I look forward to bringing
Shezaten, Tori and Shazam to their new home in March. It has been
a sincere pleasure working with you both. I look forward to doing
many years of business with Fischer Farm in the future. Thank you
again for the fantastic experience!

Chris and
Kathy have been extremely helpful, informative, and their experience
with their breeding program guided us through our first experience
breeding alpacas. We experienced great care before, during, and
following the arrival of our first cria Francene and she is quite
the looker too. Thanks for all your support!!!
Michelle & Brett Bernhardt

We have
traded breedings with Fischer Farm LLC Alpacas, and have found them
to be honest and professional in all of our dealings with them.
Kathy and Chris are easy to work with and are quick to give their
professional advice and opinions when asked. We give Fischer Farm

Catch-A-Dream
Alpacas
I have contracted
with Fischer Farm to transport, stall, and handle my finest show
alpacas on several occasions. In every case, Kathy and Chris have
provided prompt, safe service which met my expectations in every
way. They have been deeply concerned with providing an excellent
service at a fair price. To top it off, my alpacas have repeatedly
taken ribbons under the Fischer's management. I'm a very satisfied
repeat customer.

Chris and Kathy,
I want to thank you
for making the purchase of Lelu a wonderful experience. You have
the same philosophy as we do when it comes to alpacas. It is a business
but you care for your alpacas and want them to go to homes that
have the same standard of care. I would recommend Chris and Kathy
to new breeders just starting out on their alpaca journey or to
experienced alpaca breeders. The added bonus of my purchase is the
friendship I now have with them.
Thank you
again,

Alpacas was wonderful about providing information that enabled me
to feel comfortable buying an alpaca from their farm over the Internet.
You can’t find an alpaca breeder with more honesty and integrity
if you try! I’d definitely buy from them again.
